The 18 year old worked last night, thank fucking god, so I called up one of my buddies. I?ve known this guy since the 5^th grade and he?s one of the few people I?ve kept in touch with since high school and still see on a regular basis. There are many reasons why we?ve stayed friends over the years, but for a long time now our lives have been on very different paths. He?s married with three kids and in the process of putting together enough money to buy a home. I love spending time with his kids, playing and shit with them. He?s got two small boys and a seven year old daughter. They?re great kids, but what?s always in the back of my mind when I?m seeing them is just how much they must cost to raise.

It?s apparently a lot, ?cause my buddy is having trouble saving money. Southern California has been getting ridiculous to buy in for the past few years, and he?s seriously considering moving up north where his wife?s family lives. We talk from time to time about his stuff, usually right after I buy some weed off him and start smoking it. He?s not like a real drug dealer or anything, he just keeps an ounce on hand to sell to his friends to make some extra money. He use to do it for what would end up being the free smoke for himself, but his job random drug tests and last fall they nailed him. It was shitty, a negative mark on his record at work and everything, but I was pissed ?cause now we couldn?t get high together like we always have.

Bullshit rules and all other kinds of bullshit that you have to deal with to live in this country. I don?t like people telling me what to do, and can only imagine what it?s like for my friend. All the responsibilities of having to care for a family, coupled with the demands of work? Fuck all that shit. I like doing what I want and ultimately not having to answer to anyone, except for my boss, who is cool as fuck as long as I?m getting things done.

After picking up some good chronic from my buddy I got stoned and went for a drive. I love being high while driving and listening to music. I was tempted to go hit up a bar and try to get laid, but I told myself it was a Wednesday fucking night, and there was no need to risk not showing up for work the next day.
